    I’m Jenn Padilla, a kind, curious, and overall smiley Game Designer.
I focus on storyte
lling as a Writer and Narrative Designer. I am also skilled in storyboards, character design, 2D art, and UX research.

  There’s a rumor going around that I feed on the awe of the innocent. Supposedly I use my skills to witchcraft moments of magical feelings. Then once my entranced victim suspends their disbelief, I swoop in and steal their nose or something. You shouldn’t go believing any rumor you hear, though.

    Making video games has not always been my career, but it has always been part of me. Either from making simple games in Gamemaker as a child or modding Sonic Adventure 2 so I can make pretty (or cursed) gardens for my baby chao. My senior film was going to be a video game, and I spent hours watching Game Maker’s Toolkit just for fun. Making video games has been a temptress throughout my life, and I can finally say we’re going steady.

     There’s just something magical about video games. The way they talk and interact with their audience surpasses all other mediums. They leave an impression that’s unique to them. They’re the perfect vehicle for stealing noses.

AC: New Murder

Led the video game to completion with a small team, delegated all work, navigated limitations, ensured collaboration, and headed the project’s schedule.     

Lead Writer

Wrote all in-game dialogue in ways that accentuated the character’s personalities and dynamics, created the game’s story, designed the narrative progression, and scripted boolean and integer variables in Sanity.

Lead Game Designer
Created the game's concept and the plans to bring it to life, designed the levels for both the 3D exploration and the visual-novel side, and planned and implemented the game's branching paths, mechanics, challenges, pacing, rules, and rewards

Lead Artist
Created all of the game's visual assets, illustrated 10-30 expressions for 11 different characters, redesigned pre-existing characters to fit in with the game's unique style, and prototyped the look of the UI.

UX Researcher
Gathered and managed testers for beta testing, collected and organized feedback, and implemented game changes based on feedback for an improved user experience.

Marketing Manager
Created unique posts for a social media campaign, Aligned content to different tones. From "professional" to "in character," and developed relationships for an influencer marketing campaign.

Scheduled, hosted, and led a team-based event that required immense team communication, creative problem-solving, and strict time management. The role required commitment, improvising, learning, writing, game designing, interactive storytelling, decision-making, conflict resolution, risk management, and probability planning.   • Work with the director to find the desired tone of each scene and enhance those colors to create something unique.

  • Inbetween and clean up rough animation on "Hazbin Hotel" 's and "Helluva Boss"’s pilots.

  •  As an Inbetween Animator, communicate with the Key Animator to stay true to their plan while adding enhancing subtleties.

  •  Clean up incredibly detailed characters in own and other animators' rough animations.​

  • The music videos taught preschool children about the planets, Three King's day, and the months of the year.

  • The music video I contributed to the most is one of their most popular videos, with 1.6 million views.
